A musical group consisting of many members asked me years ago to take a group photo of them.
They preferred a tableau vivant. Well, they had come to the right photographer for that. Creating a tableau vivant is very challenging. The image needs to remain engaging, the people must be recognizable, and the location has to fit the theme. And in these cases, it had to be within a 12-kilometer radius!

I always start by immersing myself in the story of the musical. I try to imagine a general type of location where we could shoot and how I could adapt it to fit my vision. Next, I come up with individual stories and match the right characters to them. I always hope for a bit of serendipity because that's what makes photography so special it brings even more nuance or humor into the final image.
