For Samsung Netherlands, we traveled to Aínsa in Spain, a beautiful old town in the Pyrenees. The job was quite a challenge because the shoot was organized for a film crew. So they had priority, but nevertheless it was a great adventure with great people and great locations.
My models were a pro athlete (former Olympic BMX champion Twan van Gendt) and an influencer (Twitch streamer Puck van Brekel).
Twan was completely in his element there, like a kid in a playground. What energy that guy has! Puck was a bit nervous, as she is known as a gamer, but she was very open to embarking on this adventure.
Twan was incredible—he was fully invested and gave 100%, which really saved my shots. There was only one time when he was too tired for a particular trick, but it didn’t matter much because he had been working with the film crew for so long that, by the time I was ready, the sun had set too low for my photos.

Working with Puck was amazing; she really pushed her limits. As simple as it might seem, riding a mountain bike over smooth stones through the water is not as easy as it looks. But together with art director Jip Koopen, we made it work! A positive atmosphere goes a long way in situations like this.
